The DOCFS Post Majority team is committed to promoting culturally based educational, social, physical, and mental well-being, as well as educational opportunities for First Nations youth.
The program enables youth transitioning out of care into adulthood, and young adults formerly in care, to thrive by providing wrap-around supports and services.
Post-majority care services provide a continuum of supports for First Nations youth and young adults formerly in care to assist with their transition to adulthood upon reaching the age of majority. Post-majority care services aim to support the safety and well-being of First Nations youth and young adults through a culturally appropriate approach that reflects their self-identified best interests toward a successful future.
